Multi award-winning Welsh mezzo soprano Katherine Jenkins will be performing in Guildford at the G Live on Thursday 12th February.
It follows the eagerly anticipated release of her landmark new classical album Home Sweet Home which sees her return to her classical roots and marks a milestone in her career. It’s been ten years since the release of her debut album Premiere; one of the fastest selling classical albums of all time. Produced by Patrick Hamilton and recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, Home Sweet Home sees key collaborations including international star and violin virtuoso David Garrett (Ode To Joy) and Britain’s best loved tenor, Alfie Boe (Barcelona).
Katherine has achieved meteoric success as one of the world’s most prolific classical crossover artists with nine studio albums selling in excess of eight million copies. She’s received various accolades for her music, including two Classical BRITs for the coveted Album of the Year award. In 2013, Katherine headlined the Queen’s Coronation Festival at Buckingham Palace, and was awarded an OBE at the 2014 New Year’s Honours List for her services to music and charity.
Supporting her at the G Live will be award-winning West End and Broadway performer John Owen-Jones. John has enjoyed critical acclaim for his award-winning performances in the lead role of Jean Valjean in Les Miserables, and the title role in The Phantom of the Opera. John will perform much loved songs such as Bring Him Home (Les Miserables) and Music of the Night (The Phantom of the Opera).
Katherine’s date at G Live will see her perform tracks from the new album, as well as favourites featured throughout her astonishing career.
